Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. Michael is the Archangel of heaven and the counterforce to the evils of Lucifer or Satan. Michael has the face of Ayame but it is unclear if she only chose to appear that way to the Hana-gumi or if she used Ayame's body as a vessel, or if she is on some level the same person as Ayame. Clearly the creators of the series wanted to draw a parallel between Satan and Michael's relationship, Ayame and Yamazaki's and Aoi Satan's and Kouma Ayame's . But an angel with a simillar apperance also appears in Sakura Taisen 3 as one of Erica's Hissatsu heals.

Michael shows up towards the very end of the first game, after all the members of the Hana-gumi aside from the heroine and Oogami have been killed, as well as Ayame, and just after Satan reveals his true nature. Michael distinctly tells Oogami she is not Ayame, but says that she appears wherever Satan does to challange his evil. She orders Oogami and the Heroine to combat Satan. Oogami is unable to carry on after the lose of his friends. Micheal dilivers this stirring speech:

Attaining justice is a difficult thing.
At this time, you must proceed over a great many corpses.
However! The uncrushable courage, and moreover the bonds of
love among people will bring about victory in the end!
No matter what difficulty there may be...
the light of hope is in the hearts of humans,
Go...... and, make righteousness known!

It is then that the fallen members of the Hana-gumi are rivived, with his teamates ressurected Oogami has the courage and faith to challange Satan. Michael first appears before Satan to let him know that God the Father's power is with the Hana-gumi and she gives him a chance to return with her to heaven. Satan refuses and the battle commences.

After Satan is defeated by the Hana-gumi Michael offers once more to take him to heaven, so he can ask for God's forgiveness. Satan refuses saying that the kingdom of heaven is an illusion and he will always return as long as humans remain wicked, with that he fades away. Michael still genuinly cares for Satan even after all that's hapened, and she understand that God still loves him as well. Her relationship here mirrors that of Ayame and Yamazaki, in Atsuki this is taken even further and a romantic connection is implied (this is not in the original at least not as overtly as in Atsuki).

Micheal is ultimatly a very powerful character, commanding and reassuring, in the little screen time afforded her she strikes a powerful cord with the player.
