Ayame, is the one who recruited most of the members of the Hana-gumi. She is like a big sister to the group, and her door is open to any of them when they want to talk to her. At the begging of the first game she is temporarily at the Hana-yashiki branch and rejoins the group part way through.

Ayame's official role in the group is as the Executive Officer under General Yoneda, she is also responsible for supervising a lot of the day to day activies of the theatre.

Ayame was one of the original four members of the Tai Kouma Butai, along with Yoneda Ikki, Shinguji Kazuma and Yamazaki Shinosuke. Shinosuke and Ayame were deeply in love, and his disaperance at the end of the Kouma War had a very profound effect on Ayame. Ayame very rarely gives us a glimpse of the pain she still feels at his loss but it is clear that she has this deep inner sadness.
